Spruce Lane Eats: The Silverspoon

Silverspoon Restaurant
Neighborhood: Wayne, PA
Vibe: Farm-to-table eats, local ingredients, simple, sophisticated
Good for: Brunch, special occasions, outdoor seating, BYOB

Some of the best restaurants are the kinds that simply let their menu do the talking. There are no distractions; no extravagant ambiance or decor, just a nice setting with cuisine that consistently impresses. That is exactly how I would describe The Silverspoon in Wayne, PA; a must-visit Main Line restaurant.

Banana Bread French Toast

The environment is sophisticated, yet relaxed and welcoming, but the most memorable part is always the delicious meal. Silverspoon prides itself on the use of the freshest local ingredients, serving up a rotational menu of seasonal dishes created through the lens of classically trained Executive Chef Ron Silverberg. You can’t go wrong with any dish on this menu, but the general rule of thumb here is if coming for brunch, order anything that has their caramelized pepper bacon in it. It might be in the form of a BLT, omelette, salad, you name it, but regardless of your choice, you’re going to be glad you went with the thick cut bacon. The combination of sweet and savory is impeccable!

If it wasn’t obvious already, I tend to come here mainly for brunch, but have been for dinner a few times which also hasn’t disappointed. To make matters better, this place is BYOB, meaning you won’t be worried about racking up a huge bill on drinks, and the warmer months you can enjoy al fresco seating to make the experience even more enjoyable.

Egg White Vegetable Omelette with Parsnips, Brussel Sprouts, Cauliflower, and Goat Cheese

Take the stress off of making New Year’s Eve plans by having an incredible 6 course dinner inclusive of a celebratory champagne toast, for $75 per person! Reservations are available from 5-10pm on 12/31 and can be made in advance by visiting the website here. And give the restaurant a follow on instagram @silverspoonwayne to get excited for your next meal there.

Cheers!
